Expropriations

The development of infrastructure facilities (such as roads, railways, airports) may involve the permanent or temporary occupation of real estate. Permanent occupation of real estate necessitates expropriation with compensation.

Compensation is also applicable for the temporary occupation of real estate, for example, for storing construction materials or installing components of network installations. In cases where the network remains permanently, the property owner may also request the establishment of a servitude of transmission.

Furthermore, property owners may have claims for:

  • Repurchasing the remaining part of the expropriated property that is not suitable for use according to its intended purpose.
  • Compensation for disturbances caused by the proximity of infrastructure.
  • Compensation for the decrease in the property's value.

We provide guidance to our clients at every stage of proceedings that determine the value of claims. We verify the accuracy of expert appraisals and assist in preparing claim documentation and all necessary correspondence in compensation proceedings.
